Why should I upgrade?
Our updates may include a variety of improvements, from bug fixes and performance enhancements to exciting new features. We always recommend updating when a new one is available to ensure you get the best experience and performance.
Updating your Sound Capsule
If your Space Recorder is connected to a Wi-Fi network, a prompt for an update may appear on the Space Recorder display automatically.
Update screen and initiation:
- Update version and information
- Click the Up Arrow button to update.
Don't see any update?
If no prompt for updating your Sound Capsule is shown, this does not mean there's not an update available. An update doesn't show up until it's downloaded and ready to install on your device.
Please wait a few minutes as the update may take a few minutes to download depending on your network speed. If the update has not appeared after a few minutes, please proceed with the step-by-step guides provided below:
Updating Your Sound Capsule from the control panel:
Step 1:
- Press and hold the Down Arrow button for approximately 5 seconds to enter the Sound Capsule control panel.
Step 2:
- Once inside the control panel, navigate to Check for updates using the Up and Down Arrow buttons and press the Record button to make your selection.
Step 3:
- Once the update has been downloaded (this may take a few minutes to complete), the Sound Capsule will prompt you to start the update process. Press the Up Arrow button to initiate the software update.
The update may take several minutes to complete and the Sound Capsule may reboot several times during this process.
Updating Your Sound Capsule from the Companion App:
Step 1:
- In the Companion App, select your Sound Capsule.
Step 2:
- Tap the settings icon.
Step 3:
In the settings page, select Software update. The Sound Capsule must be online at this point, in order to download the software update.
Step 4:
If your device is up-to date then there will be no update available
If there is an update available, the Companion App will show you the update and give you an opportunity to install the update, as seen below.
If you cannot start the update process:
If you are unable to install the update, you must follow the instructions and dock all items of your kit and charge it to a sufficient level in order to proceed with the installation.
