How to I turn on and off my Stellar Kit?

There is no on/off buttons on your Stellar Kit

  • Tapping on the Stellar Mics will wake them up
  • Sleep mode is activated after 1 minute of inactivity (as long as there is no active Bluetooth connection)

Note: The first time you activate the Stellar Mics they must be placed in the Charging Dock. Tap-to-wake does not work the very first time you use them.

Step 2:

Download the Studio app.

You may also search for the app yourself. Just enter the App Store on your iOS device and search for Nomono Studio

Android users: The Studio App is still called Companion on Android OS. We are working hard to bring the Studio App to Android. This means that the Stellar Kit is unfortunately not compatible with Android phones currently. Stay tuned for updates.

You're all set and the setup is now complete! Feel free to start recording with your new Stellar Kit. Welcome aboard and happy recording!

      Your first recording

Once the initial setup is completed you may enter the Stellar Kit as instructed below. In this section we will teach you how to use your Stellar Kit to record, and how the Studio App and Stellar Mics behave during a recording.

To get started, please locate your Stellar Kit from the list of devices

      • Tap the kit to proceed

Ensure that your Stellar Mics are powered on, not in sleep mode and in range of your iOS device. The way to check this directly from within the app, is to see the connection state of the Stellar Mics.

If the Studio App looses connection with the Stellar Mics at any point, they will be separated from the device row in the record screen view. A dark spacing between the Stellar Mics and the phone will indicate this, as seen in the left screenshot below.

The screenshot on the right is indicative of a kit where there is a connection between the Studio App and both Stellar Mics. All the parts are grouped together and the light grey fields are all touching.

Tip: The wireless signal strength indicators are visible when there is a stable wireless connection.

Here is an explanation of the record screen:

      1. Each part of the kit has a signal strength and battery status indicator visible, as long as there is a connection between the Stellar Mics and the Studio App (phone).
      2. The destination workspace set in Nomono Studio Cloud is always visible above the record button. Keep note of this to ensure that your files are uploaded to the correct destination.

When both Stellar Mics are awake and connected, you are ready to make your first recording.

First, wait for the Stellar Mics to synchronize, then press the record button. Afterwards, observe that both Stellar Mics are armed and recording. There is a recording duration counter for your convenience, located directly above the record/stop button.

To stop the recording simply press the Stop button

Tip: Keep an eye on the signal strength and battery indicators throughout your recording. These indicators are present to help you observe the status of the recording progress and spot any issues early on.

Once you press the Stop button the recording will stop and the Stellar Mics will no longer be armed for recording. The Studio App will gather any remaining data from the Stellar Mics internal memory and quickly start the upload to Nomono Studio Cloud.

The upload status can be observed by the spinning progress wheel located above the record button, and from within the Upload Queue view you can see past uploads and check the upload status. When your recording receives a check mark on the left hand side, the upload is complete.
